Mas Matsushita, Photographer of the Illecillewaet GlacierIf you have the book, Amazing British Columbia, you will know that the photograph has been marked, and that the marks show how the glacier has receded (melted) over the years. Two people were involved in creating the photograph.Mas Matsushita, who works for Parks Canada, took the photo. Mas was very helpful to me in finding photos and in giving me information, both for the Illecillewaet Glacier, and for the Nakimu Caves. Who Drew The Lines?Dr Dan McCarthy is the person who drew the lines on the photo. He used old photographs and information about the age of trees on the moraines (a pile of rocks left behind by a glacier) and the age of the lichens on the rocks to find the information he needed to make the lines in the right place.Other Photos Of The Illecillewaet GlacierHere is link to more photos of the Illecillewaet GlacierBooks About GlaciersThese books are about glaciers.
